A blast cleaning machine to an american shipbuilding company for blast cleaning of edges of steel sheets.

Finnblast Oy is delivering to an american shipyard a custom made blast cleaning machine for blast cleaning of edges of steel sheets.  The shipyard is welding sheets together in automated welding lines. Because of the welding the edges of sheets are blast cleaned to improve the welding speed and the quality of the welding seams.   The biggest sheets are nearly 4 m wide and 18 m long.   The edges of plates are blast  cleaned both on the upper and on the lower side of the sheet. 

The sheets are feeded into the blast cleaning machine on a roller conveyor.  Inside the blasting chamber the blast cleaning of edges is made automated.   The moving blasting nozzles clean not only  the  side edges but also the front edge and the rear edge of the sheets automated.

The edges are blast cleaned with moving nozzles.  The machine has low noise level and it is efficient.
