Automatic blast cleaning machines work tirelessly and maintain regular quality. Automation refers to moving the blasting nozzle and piece in a controlled manner, for example. The machine may also include automatic piece detection, blasting pressure and shot amount adjustment, and other automatic functions. The size of the piece can be measured on-line, and the nozzle can then be guided according to this measurement. Below, you can find some examples of fully automatic blast cleaning machines.

FB 1100 with satellite table

The FB 1100-SP is an automatic cabinet equipped with a satellite table. It can be operated by means of ejectors, or with compressed air. Depending on the size of the blasted pieces, there can be 10–20 satellite tables. The blasting medium can be steel shot, glass beads, aluminium oxide, etc. The pieces are loaded on the satellite tables, and the blasting is started. The machine will automatically blast clean all the pieces according to the selected logic program. The input and extraction of pieces can be automated using a robot, for example.

Automated blast cleaning cabinet FB 1800-1900 with two tables and automated blasting nozzles

FB 1800-1900  is equipped with two rotary tables and with automated blasting nozzles.  Two rotary tables increase the efficient blasting time.  When the other table is  outside the cabinet for loading/unoading, the second table with work pieces can be inside the cabinet and the blasting process is on at the same time.

FBD- 4100-3D Fully automatic blasting equipment for train wheel sets

The FBD 4100-3D is designed for the automatic blasting of wheel sets for train cars. The machine has a single blast nozzle, and its movements are easy to program. The device is flexible to use, and it can be used to blast only the axle or only the wheels, for example. The blast cleaning results meet the requirements of EU directives and VPI standards. Noise level during blasting can be below 80 dB(A).

Automatic blast cleaning for pieces on overhead conveyor

Pieces that move on an overhead conveyor can be cleaned effectively and fully automatically. The conveyor may have pieces of different sizes in random order. The height of the piece and the position of its base are measured as the piece enters the blasting chamber. In the blasting chamber, the piece is blasted in accordance with the height measurement. Once blast cleaning is complete, compressed air is used to remove dust from the surface of the piece.

FB 2000 – 2D

This cabinet is used to blast axially symmetrical pieces, such as tubes, rolls, axles, etc. The moving gear for the blasting nozzle is located on the roof of the chamber. The movement of the nozzle and the rotation of the piece are controlled by programmable logic. The automatic blast cleaning keeps the cleanliness and roughness of the blasted surface at a similar level, day after day and week after week. The machine is dust-free and has a low noise level.
